Could you clarify "total face value"? As worded, it could be interpreted a couple different ways.
If I have 3 Hides cards, is the "total face value" 3 points or is it 9 points?

By defenition the "face value" of each card is 1, making the "total face value" of the three cards 3. It is the "set value" that is 9. These defenitions is used through out the rulebook. "Set value" is defined in "28.5 Commodity Card Sets", but I don't think "face value" is explicitly defined anywere, though it is imo quite obviusly, taking the text in 28.5 in account. Would the following 28.51 make it any clearer, or is it just confusing?
Quote:
28.51 When a player holds more than one commodity card of the same type, the total value of the combination is increased according to the following formula: square the number of cards held, then multiply the result by the value of the commodity. For example, three oil cards (each worth four) have a set value of 3 x 3 x 4 = 36, rather than 4 + 4 + 4 = 12. The face value of each single oil card is however still four, and thus a total face value of the same three oil cards is still only 12.
