Playtest on Barcelona July 10th
Author Message
Post
I enjoyed playing Ad Civ, and when I discovered this project I decided to make my own copy. We are going to make the first playtest the next 10th of july. We are a group of 9-10 players (maybe more) but everyone is invited to come.

The next week I'll explain how this playtest was and maybe some links with photos !

The work done in this project is amazing ! Congratulations to all !

Finaly we were 13 in the Playtest. We played 11 turns. It war a very military game where everyone never had enought space to develop beyond 5 or 6 cities. The exception were de border nations like Iberia (who won the game) that doesn't had enought problems to maintain their borders.

For this reason and for the time limit the purchase of cards where almost ridicoulus, althought a few persons argued that a pre-requisite sistem like the old one was needed. (Specially when Iberia bought Fundamentalism). More playtesting are coming, so I will comment here my suggestions and forethoughts about the game. Here are two photos of our game :

What were your borders and country list? I'm assuming 3 western panels of the PNG files with 13 countries (from looking at the photos), but did you tweak it beyond that?

Yes, we used the 3 western png files and we tweaked the easter panel as you can see in the IM000027.JPG photo. Chorasmia and Kushan weren't in play, so I made unplayable his starting areas and their near sorroundings. The 13 civilizations in play were :

Iberia, Rome, Iliria, thrace, crete, Hatti, Assyrium, Babylon, Persia, Nubia, Arabia, Egypt, Africa

The stronger civilizations were Nubia, Persia, Iberia and Rome (maybe Carthage was too much peacefull).
