Massive Credit System Changes

Revised Credit System Ver 1.0

Major changes:

Credits are now given to players as credit tokens. There are five colors of “Credit Tokens” each corresponding to a technology field (Crafts, Science, Arts, Civics and Religions). They come in denominations of 5, 10 and 25.

All advances give a set number of Credit Tokens matching specific colors. These credits can be redeemed during on any later round and count toward any appropriate colored card (dual cards count as both colors). Once redeemed Field Credit Tokens are returned to the bank.

Many cards give extra 20 points worth of credits that apply to a specific more expensive advance. Provided the source card was purchased on the previous turn a player may apply this 20-point credit against the purchase of the new advance.

Changes to Advances (besides normal credit changes):
Library – Library allows you to choice 40 points worth of credit tokens of any color. These specific tokens may be spent immediately to purchase other advances on the same turn.

Card Pre-Requisites:
There are no longer any card Pre-Requisites

This could bring to a lot of "If you have this than you can do that" in the rules.

Hmmm... maybe I wrote my post too much focused on my changes about Naval Warfare... meaning that Astronomy could be needed to use the Open Sea naval block. I don't think there are other examples.

I am translating the civ cards in french (it is very long) and i need your help to understand perfectly the new massive credit system changes
As there is no prerequist civ cards, i have to delete all the sentences like (prerequist: law" and so on. easy to understand for my poor english
About library, instead of 50 credits, it is 40 : ok
About the 20 credits towards a specific civ cards, it is written in the new rule book: ok
I am probably stupid,or i am afraid to understand that i have to modify all the civ cards Again!! For example:
on the first line: pottery 20 crafts and 5 civics? then 20 toward Agriculture
does it mean that POTTERY gives 20 credits toward a craft card, 5 credits toward a civic card and 20 toward Agriculture ? (only if we purchased this advance during a previous turn)
It is a good idea to simplify the acquisition of civ cards to reduce this time phase
Need to test it , if it works (if i have understood correctly)
thanks for reading

Under this proposed credit system, coupons aren't cumulative. since there are more civ advances to acquire, why whould we make it HARDER to get new advances?

Velusion changed the idea. Now you get credit "tokens" and you don't spend them, you show them upon purchase and can use them again on other advances. It's all in the rules.

Quote:
32.54 A credit from a civilization card that is already owned by a player may be applied towards the purchase of more than one additional civilization card, but the credit may only be applied once to each new card. For example, a player holding Astronomy, that gives a 10 point credit towards all other sciences, may apply the 10 point credit to the purchase of both Coinage and Medicine in the same turn, but the credit from Astronomy may only be applied once to each new card.
