Here are some new ones drawn this week:
2. Squandered Wealth
3. Treachery (the horse IN troje instead of outside)
7. Corruption
8. Tyranny. I looked for a typical Greek dagger of that time, cause the greek culture was famous for its tyranny.
9. Regression. A ruined palace.

I've drawn two new images today.
Flood and Tempest.
For Tempest I tried to make a vast difference between this card and cyclone where tempest should indicate a lesser storm. I tried to create 'the silence before the storm' where you can see the treathening of a dark cloud.
And in the distance, the winds blowing at the coast.

I drew two new ones today
Banditry. I drew an outlaw, a murderer on the road.
Slave revolt. Where the current cards shows the justification of former revolting slaves, I've been looking for an image where slaves are beaten down DURING the revolt by an army. Where it's more than just some uproar the regular guards can take care of.
By the way. The movie "Spartacus" is on BBC2 tonight. I'm gonna watch that (again).

While much better than the current illustrations, these last two cards don't seem to be up to par with the other.
That bandit isn't very frightening, and it looks as if he was about to fall backwards out of his saddle.
And the slaves revolting looks more like poor free men than slaves. As I've recently read some fiction about the American Civil War, it kind of reminds me of a ancient version of that. Untrained free men revolting against a superior trained military force. As such, I think that illustration would fit Civil War or Civil Disorder better than Slave Revolt.

For Banditry, you have a point. Please come up with a better idea.
For slave revolt I do not agree. At first, the american civil war has nothing to do with our game. A civil war means two groups within one civilization fighting against eachother. Two different classes is more like a revolt.
Yesterday I mentioned Spartacus, the most famous slave revolt ever in the period our game reaches. If the story is true is as important as it is to the burning calf for Iconoclam. The story is about one slave (a gladitor) starting a revolt that grows this big that the regural guards cannot stop is anymore. All slaves in the country then team up. These pepole are not gladiators but the people doing hard work like mining. Ofcourse these slaves are looking poor. What kinda folk would you imagane working in mines.
When the romans finally used the army to beat down the slave revolt some battles arose. We are talking large slave revolts here, where hundres, thousands people team up. Not just disorder.
I even think the original slave revolt-card of Avalon Hill was directly linked to spartacus.
A scene like I drew could just be in a spartacus movie, book, or whatever you like.

Just having a forward leaning determined bandit should be a great improvement over the current drunkard who doesn't seam to be much of a threat to anyone but himself...
As for slave revolt, I know that the American Civil War has nothing to do with Civilization, but I must admit it was my first impression (followed closely by the American Revolution), but that might be because it was still fresh in my mind from reading.
As for looking poor, that's not a problem, ofcourse they should look poor. The problem is that there is no way to see that they are supposed to be slaves. Of course, there is no real physical difference between slaves and free men, but some attire to distinguish it would be nice. No clue about what though...
As for being Civil War, you are probably right that there is a difference between a "normal" civil war and a class-war (revolt), but then Civil Disorder is the revolt version of Civil War...
Of course, if you have a better idea for Civil Disorder, use that instead. I'm just suggesting an alternative use for the image you drew if you head my suggestion to draw something else for Slave Revolt.

HAHA!
ok message clear.
First I'm drawing all cards. Then decide what to redraw. In general, deciding which files do not fit the rest, is best done when all files are present. I work this way almost all the time. (except for mistakes that are clear immediatley)
Civil disorder being slave revolt: Yes there is a connection. BUT a civil disorder is actually nothing but a citicen-revolt (At least in the meaning of our game) but this time WITHOUT any clear political reason or (etnic/social) group. Just disorder.
Remember the 'battle' of Los Angeles. Starting with the beating of Rodney King and the anti-racism protests. Ending up with people murdering, plundering, and devastating without a particular reason, just using the anarchy and being driven by any problems in those people's lives. In other words. The government lost grip of law and it got even out of the city-borders. The whole country got involved.
Music, Drama and Poetry, Law and Democracy all help making people 'happier' or 'satisfied' and therefore those people are less driven to get involved in crime (the plundering, murdering)
"city riots" to me is a lesser form of that. Maybe the same unrest, but still can be taken care of by the government and kept within the city.
This calamity costs you one city a bunch of money.
To me it all makes sense. After some research though.
Minor uprising is in fact an uprise directly against the government, which is totally different than a tribal conflict or civil war (where people fight eachother), though could be linked to a slave revolt (which is also an uprise to masters) and could grow out to become , city riots and finally civil disorder.
These are hard though to draw. I mean, get the right image drawn that indicates these differences. I'm not fully done in deciding what to draw for these.

I think you are correct in your analysis of the cards. Very much a hard nut to crack, but I hope (and believe) you'll do great when you do figure it out.
And I do agree that Civil Disorder is a "Citizen Revolt" and not a "Slave Revolt", but then my original complaint of the new Slave Revolt illustration was that the slaves looked like (poor) citizens...

ok. I think the slaves that are revolting look like poor citizens cause they are poor citizens. I see no problem in that, because the image is on a card called 'slave revolt'

Slave != Citizen.
By definition, slaves are not citizens, poor or otherwise, so your sentence above isn't true. What I'm trying to say is that the people revolting on the card doesn't look like slaves, but like free men (aka citizens). And, according to your own analysis, free men revolting can also be called "civil disorder".
Exactly what to do about this is up to you however, as I don't have a clue about what to put on each of all these related cards.

yeah, you are right, slaves are not citizens but they might look like citizens, cause slaves are not nessesarily people form different etnic background.
