Umm... sure. [:p] That formula seems to work!

Is that correct? (Unless we see some big abuses, I'm tempted to let Apollo 18 continue without change)

Yea, lets just play it by ear there.

Okay so I am new to the forum but, what about a number of trades ruling, just like the computer does in the advanced Civ computer game?

Then it is harder to get really large sets unless you bide your time...

I would be fairly strongly against anything to limit the number of trades possible in a round. It would take some pretty good convincing.

As Jonno/Kruppman have mentioned the old style east/west trade is broken. Apollo 18 stayed with the old version, and things have been getting out of control. It is still a good game, but the swap is too powerful.

Fair enough it just seems that the point of the east-west trade rule was valid, but it failed to have the intended impact, namely to reduce the insanity of an 18 player trading session, in fact it probably gave incentives to increase it.

How about then as an alternative a limited trade partners rule, where you can old trade with those who you have connecting borders with? Also makes the middle players compensated for their lack of safe borders.
