So me and the group of people I play with have been playing civ for some time now. Usually we pick up one newbie but we have four of us who are getting very good. But recently we have been running into a problem. Last two games we at least one person has boughten all of the cards. This might be becasue we are not aggresive enough but we want to make the game actaully harder. So we want advice on what course of action to take. Here is our intial idea: Play with 8 players with no expansion and take out lots of crete/babylon/egypt. One of our main goals is to get rid of city cites. I think I counted 54 with no expansion and we want to reduce that by 5-10. Taking out crete seems like the best option becasue it dosn't destroy to much of the board and gets rid of lots of city cites. If we were going to get rid of egypt we would probebly leave to coast but get rid of the city cites on the coast. So tell us what you think.

Sound slike you've been playing Advanced Civ. Old Civ you can't buy all the cards - you're limited to only 11. Perhaps you should try playing the old rules instead of advanced. Also remember that the fewer players you play with, the smaller the map is supposed to be. The rules state which areas not to use when playing a smaller game.
