My hat is off to a job well done.

Please bear with me while I pose a question or two.

The map only contains minor tweaks, the only game technical one is a slightly changed A.S.T. track for Hatti.

I have read that the core rule book 2.09 and the map are not of the same release. The map is to be updated. Are the two compatible as is? Should I construct or wait?

I was considering constructing the board on 4-6 wood/Plexiglas panels so they are rigid, and transportable. Has this been attempted or has the idea been vetoed for reasons I am unaware of? I understand there is a weight issue, but I'll construct a case for the whole game.

Lastly, would you like me to post the construction process? You've done all the hard work, it is the least I can do in support of your efforts should you like to have pictures from start to finish.

Martin's Mapboard is updated for 2.09. Mark's Mapboard Redux is not yet updated with the changed Hatti A.S.T. It's also missing a pop-marker in one area in Hellas (should be a one), and contains a few purely graphical goofs. We are currently waiting for Mark to fix it, and he seems to be a very busy man.
If you intended to print Martin's Mapboard there is no reason to wait. If you intended to print Mark's Mapboard Redux it might be advisable to wait, unless you are planing to play on it very soon, in which case you can do some "quick'n'dirty" edits to fix the AST and pop marker before printing (I did that for my game at LinCon 2007 a few weeks ago).

Wooden panels has been proposed before, and other than the weight issue, and production difficulties (you can't exactly put a piece of wood in the printer) there has been no objections. So if those problems don't bother you, go ahead.

If you have pictures, I'd be interested in seeing them.

Thanx for your quick reply! I have some pictures already and will keep taking them as I complete the project. Then I'll just post them all to my web page and provide the link. I expect to be done by the weekend. Perhaps not the case, though.

I was going to use wood, glue the map to it and then laminate it. I have had some success with this method before. It takes patience, but creates a nice durable playing surface. Since I want to create it full sized, it would be impossible to transport as a whole. Other games which have large maps (Totaler Krieg & Dragon Lance Mod#11) use folded paper and is not overly friendly to the tokens used. Also are susceptible to spilled drinks and general wear. We'll see! Hopefully it turns out well and is a credit to your project.

Question, How many credit token sheets that you've created would be required for an 18 player game?
