It was a real hoot. 10 hrs, and we got within 4 turns of finishing. Trading was hot and heavy, and we had several near resets as Epidemic, Civil War and Famine hit in the same turn twice... EVERYONE had a good time. I printed the CIV cards on 120# cardstalk with a color printer for the front and laser for the back. They are almost as durable as the origional. I printed the Trade cards on Photo paper for the numbered side, and the AH side on sticker paper. Cutting them and joining them took all day, just for the western side cards, the western side shared cards, and the calamities. Worked GREAT, and the only thing I would like would be to use a press to compress them together and a die cutter to clean up the corners. The map did great, I printed that on a HP Plotter on durable paper at 32" wide. I'd like to use 42" paper for the next version and to outline the starting teritories for easier startup. For gameplay, we found combat to be pretty un-necessary, shrink the borders by one teritory to encourage combat, and expand them by one for a friendly game. We are trying to setup a 12 player game next, but will do as many as we can find, probably sometime around the Christmas Break. Two tumbs WAY up for the folks here who did the maps and .png files of the cards and tokens, they REALLY came out very nice with minimal cost if you just take some time. |
